Meet The Makers

At Mia Tui, our factory is more than just a workplace; it's a community.

I want to introduce you to some of the incredible people who work at the Mia Tui factory in Vietnam.

Over the past 10 days, I've had the pleasure of spending time with our incredible team in Vietnam.

Enjoy getting to know the wonderful individuals behind your Mia Tui bag!

Van - The Owner Of Mia Tui VN Factory

Van and I have worked together since the very start of Mia Tui. She owns and runs the factory in Vietnam.

We speak every day, and her role in the Mia Tui journey has been a constant presence from day one.

If Van hadn’t agreed to help me make my very first 200 Mia Tui Travel Bags, when everyone else had turned me away, we wouldn’t have the brand or community we have today.

Van is married with two young daughters, Mia (7) and Mio (5). While she’ll admit she’s not a big fan of cooking, she loves growing her own vegetables and keeps chickens in her garden.

Her passion for Mia Tui runs deep, to the point that she even named her first daughter Mia.

Her commitment and care are at the heart of every bag we make.

Ms Hang - Mia Tui Office Manager

For the past 18 months, Ms Hang has been at the heart of operations, ensuring that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. From ordering the hardware and materials that go into each bag to handling the accounts, Ms Hang wears many hats, and wears them brilliantly.

She’s also our main point of contact on the ground, working closely with me in the UK, to keep production on track. She describes Mia Tui as a very happy place to work and says she genuinely enjoys coming into the office each day.

Outside of work, Ms Hang is married and hopes to start a family soon, something she’s very excited about.

What does she love most about Mia Tui? The colours! With so many beautiful shades to choose from, she says her favourite is the Maya, which is perfect when riding on her motorbike.

Mr Thien - Fabric Cutting Leader

Mr Thien plays a critical role in the production of every Mia Tui bag. He’s responsible for managing all the fabric and cutting the patterns for each of our styles. With up to 15 different bag designs in just one container, it’s no small task!

His precision and attention to detail are second to none, and his ability to stay organised is what helps keep our production running smoothly.

Having worked with Van for over 8 years, Mr Thien is not just a team member, he’s part of the Mia Tui family. His calm nature, problem-solving skills, and deep knowledge of our designs make him absolutely invaluable behind the scenes.

Outside of work, Mr Thien enjoys the simpler joys in life: relaxing at a local coffee shop with his friends and singing his heart out at karaoke. (And yes, we’re told he’s got quite the voice!)

Mr Truong - Quality Control & Packing Leader

Mr Truong has worked with us for over five years and has been a close family friend of Van for even longer.

He’s a steady, reliable presence in the factory, quietly ensuring that every bag is checked, beautifully packed, and boxed up with care before being loaded onto the container.

But there’s more to Mr Truong than just precision and organisation.

He’s a proud dad to one daughter and is about to become a father of three, with twins on the way in just four months! Needless to say, life is about to get a lot busier.

When he’s not preparing for parenthood, you’ll likely find him at the local coffee house playing billiards with friends, his favourite way to unwind after a long day.

He also runs regularly to stay fit (how he manages to run in the Vietnamese heat, I’ll never know!).

Ms Hoa - Bag Maker

Ms Hoa is relatively new to Mia Tui, having joined us just one year ago. Before that, she worked in another handbag factory, bringing with her a wealth of experience and dedication.

At Mia Tui, Ms Hoa plays a varied role; one day, she might be sewing delicate seams, and the next, she’s carefully attaching the backing to the bags where the zipped pockets will be placed.

Her versatility and attention to detail make her a vital part of our production process.

But beyond her skills, Ms Hoa loves the friendly and supportive atmosphere at Mia Tui. She’s made so many close friends here that she often meets up with them outside of work, a testament to the warm and welcoming culture we cherish.
