TRAVELLING WITH MIA TUI

I had decided to use a Mini Jen for myself and husband was coerced into using a Sydney backpack. I will be honest with you, he is definitely not a man bag/backpack kind of guy. But by the end of our travels, he was a Mia Tui convert!
I chose the Mini Jen primarily as the hidden pocket at the back of the bag can slip slips over standard suitcase handles. I only need to travel with “my clutter” not an entire family’s worth of stuff so for me the Mini Jen was great. (The Jennie would also have worked well). Instead of a standard purse, I thought I would use a matching Molly purse bag as my purse inside the Mini Jen (I took the wrist strap and longer shoulder strap off and packed these for use whilst away). The clear PVC zipped pouch that comes with the Mini Jen was packed with all the 100ml liquids I needed for the journey. I had a small perfume roller ball, mascara, lip balm etc.. When it came to security, it was so easy to simply place in the trays for the x-rays. No moving to plastic bags and worrying that I’d left something in my bag!
The matching Lily clutch that comes with the Mini Jen (and Jennie) I used to put our passports, tickets, boarding passes into and during check-in and security, I wore this as a cross body bag. No more hunting around for documents! I found this worked really well, then I simply slipped it back into its place within my Jen for the flight.
I used a Beau for my phone charger and jewellery that I wasn’t wearing but wanted to take on holiday. For me, I felt better having my jewellery safely stored on me rather than packing in my main luggage. Beau and Gem are great for all sorts of uses whether as cable bags if you are taking a lot of tech stuff away with you or toiletry, makeup bags. I packed a Gem as my toiletry bag and then later whilst we were away, I used it by the pool for sun creams.
We had a small cabin sized suitcase so Mini Jen sat over the handles right up until we boarded the plane. Hubby had all his “man stuff” in his Sydney whereas usually when we travel I get lumbered with his specs case, keys, newspapers, water … You know where I am coming from? As the Sydney also comes with a clear PVC pouch, he had his lotions and potions sorted too!
I did get some funny looks in the airport whilst I was taking pics of Mini Jen and Sydney (almost like a proper photoshoot!) But I couldn’t have wasted the photo op, could I?
Once we boarded the plane, Mini Jen sat easily under the seat in front of me for taking off and landing so I wasn’t asked to put it in the overhead lockers. (I even managed to get a pic of this too!)
As I mentioned, we were lucky enough to break our Singapore trip up with a long weekend in Phuket. The flight is only 1 and a half hours from Singapore and we only took cabin luggage for this.
Again, my Mia Tui bags worked so well! We were there for 4 nights and Hubby took his Sydney as his cabin bag. We rolled our clothes so he managed to get nearly everything into his Sydney! I took my Alex folding travel bag (which had been packed into our main luggage folded up taking up hardly any room) and again rolled my clothes meaning there were bags of room! I was also allowed a handbag (this isn’t so with all budget airlines so do check this) so Mini Jen came too and I used as I had on our long-haul flight. My Molly was used as my main purse, then in the evenings I added the wrist strap or longer shoulder strap and used as an evening bag. My Lily clutch was also used when I didn’t need to take out a larger handbag.
.
So with the help of Mini Jen, Sydney, Molly, Lily, Beau and Gem, I felt stylish and organised throughout my entire trip. I watched a few ladies at the airport struggling with handbags, children, suitcases and nearly tapped them on the shoulder to sing the praises of Mia Tui!
I hope this has given a little insight into how Mia Tui bags really do make life a easier and more organised!
If you have a holiday booked, do give us a try and have a fabulous trip!

I noticed on one of your travel blogs from Cornwall you used a spotty picnic rug/blanket/sheet but can’t find it anywhere on here. Please can you tell me how I can find it? Thanks.
I love this. I feel exactly the same about my Mia Tui bags, it really helps reduce travel stress, I love knowing that everything has its place in my bags!
Wow Nici, thanks for this blog it is brilliant. Really easy and useful info in helping which bags are good to take and their uses. Does the Mini Jen count as a handbag then as you had that and the Alex? That is great to know. Am fairly new to your bags but will certainly be taking some of mine with me this year after reading this blog. Thanks so much for sharing it
Wow you were certainly in very good company with all those fab organisation bags! I love mine too and the Molly is so useful to use as a purse/wallet like you did taking the straps off. So glad you had a great time!
